The Lake Balboa Cougars swept the Magnolia Science Academy Reseda team behind very tough serving at the First Sports Complex in Chatsworth. A boisterous crowd was on hand for MSAR's Senior Day but LBPC dampened the party. Lake Balboa had more aces than kills, 26 to 21! Daniel Ancheta put the Oh! in offense with 11 service aces & 8 kills. He played brilliantly on defense passing 10 of 11 MSAR serves & keeping them off the scoreboard 6 times. DS Jarrel Quinones rang up 5 aces & 4 digs. Oppo Armen Boursalian had a fine match (even better recovering quickly from a twisted ankle while landing on an MSAR player's foot in the front row in set 3) killing 4 of 8 swings with a crisp .375 percentage compared to .077 for the rest of the team. Setter Narek Manukyan led the team on defense with 7 digs while tallying 9 assists, 4 kills, & 3 aces. Middle Blocker Chris Garcia hit a solid .286 finding the hardwood in 4 of 9 tries with 4 digs. OH Arturo Pelaez chipped in with 6 digs, 3 aces.
