Spectators at Friday's non-league battle between the Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC) and the host Freedom Patriots (Morganton, NC), saw Ashe County's baseball squad knock off Freedom by a count of 14-3.

Coming up next, the Huskies play the South Caldwell Spartans (Hudson, NC) in a battle, on Tuesday, April 23. Ashe County will attempt to move on its 2-8 season record. The Spartans enter the battle with a 11-1 record after their 2-1 league loss to Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC).

The Patriots now possess a 3-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Watauga for a non-league battle on Tuesday, April 23. Freedom will play a Pioneers squad coming off a 5-4 non-league win over Davie (Mocksville, NC). The Pioneers record now stands at 5-6.
