The Alexander Central Cougars softball team (Taylorsville, NC), was routed 7-2 in Friday's league test with the host South Caldwell Spartans (Hudson, NC)

Coming up next, the Spartans clash with the Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC) in a non-league test, on Tuesday, April 23. South Caldwell will attempt to improve on its 5-1 season record. The Huskies come into the test with a 4-7 record after their 12-3 non-league loss to East Wilkes (Ronda, NC).

The Cougars (10-2) will now prepare for their test against Hibriten (Lenoir, NC). The Panthers come into the test with a 1-5 record. In their last test, Hibriten edged Watauga (Boone, NC), 8-7, in a non-league test.
