The Alleghany Cougars softball team scored 8 runs and limited the visiting Floyd County Buffaloes to 5 in the Cougars league triumph on Friday.

With the triumph, Alleghany moves its record to 5-2 on the year. The Cougars travel to Wilson Memorial (Fishersville, VA) to clash with the Green Hornets in a non-league game on Monday, April 22. The Green Hornets come into the game with a record of 2-7. Wilson Memorial lost 9-5 in their recent league game against Stuarts Draft (Stuarts Draft, VA)

In their next game, the Buffaloes clash with the James River Knights (Buchanan, VA) in a Three Rivers game, on Tuesday, April 23. Floyd County will attempt to move on its 7-5 season record. The Knights come into the game with a 3-5 record after their 10-8 non-league loss to Eastern Montgomery (Elliston, VA).
