The crowd at Friday's league bout between the Eastland Cougars (Lanark, IL) and the host Amboy Clippers (Amboy, IL), observed Eastland's softball squad hold off Amboy by a tally of 6-5.

Next, the Cougars meet the River Ridge/Scales Mound Wildcats (Hanover, IL) in a non-league test, on Monday, April 22. Eastland will attempt to advance on its 9-4 season record. The Wildcats go into the test with a 0-11 record after their 12-6 league loss to Fulton (Fulton, IL).

The Clippers (7-6) will now prepare for their test against Milledgeville (Milledgeville, IL). The Missiles go into the NUIC South test with a 5-6 record. In their last test, Milledgeville was nudged by Durand (Durand, IL), 4-3, in a non-league test.
