Virginia High School Softball - Amherst County gets by Jefferson Forest

The Amherst County Lancers (Amherst, VA) softball nipped the visiting Jefferson Forest Cavaliers (Forest, VA), 6-5 in Friday's league bout.

The Lancers (6-6) will now prepare for their bout against Liberty (Bedford, VA). The Minutemen go into the Seminole bout with a 8-5 record. In their last bout, Liberty was edged by Rustburg (Rustburg, VA), 9-3, in a league bout.

The Cavaliers now possess a 9-3 record. They play next when they host Appomattox County for a non-league bout on Monday, April 22. Jefferson Forest will confront a Raiders squad coming off a 3-0 league win over William Campbell (Naruna, VA). The Raiders record now stands at 9-2.
