Atlee Raiders (Mechanicsville, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Mechanicsville Mustangs (Mechanicsville, VA), 3-2 in a league challenge.

The Raiders now own a 5-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Henrico for a Capital challenge on Monday, April 22. Atlee will battle a Warriors squad coming off a 26-3 non-league loss to Maggie Walker (Richmond, VA). The Warriors record now stands at 1-4.

With the loss, Mechanicsville falls to 5-6 on the campaign. The Mustangs host Varina (Richmond, VA) to battle the Blue Devils in a Capital challenge on Monday, April 22. The Blue Devils enter the challenge with a record of 5-4. Varina lost 14-6 in their recent league challenge against Highland Springs (Highland Springs, VA)
