The Smithfield Packers routed the host Bruton Panthers softball squad by a count of 13-2 in Friday's league battle.

The Packers (7-5) will now prepare for their battle against Warhill (Williamsburg, VA). The Lions go into the Bay Rivers battle with a 7-4 record. In their last battle, Warhill topped Lafayette (Williamsburg, VA), 26-1, in a league battle.

The Panthers now sport a 3-8 record. They play next when they travel to Grafton for a Bay Rivers battle on Wednesday, April 24. Bruton will meet a Clippers squad coming off a 7-0 league loss to Poquoson (Poquoson, VA). The Clippers record now stands at 6-4.
