Viola Longhorns (Viola, AR) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Calico Rock Pirates (Calico Rock, AR), 17-5 in a league challenge.

The Longhorns now own a 10-5 record. They take the field next when they host Norfork for a 1A Region 2 challenge on Monday, April 22. Viola will face a Panthers squad coming off a 17-1 league loss to West Side (Greers Ferry, AR). The Panthers record now stands at 3-12.

With the loss, Calico Rock falls to 9-9 on the campaign.
