Mountain View Mavericks (Meridian, ID) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Capital Golden Eagles (Boise, ID), 12-8 in a league challenge.

The Mavericks now own a 15-2 record. They take the field next when they host Centennial for a 5A Southern Idaho challenge on Tuesday, April 23. Mountain View will battle a Patriots squad coming off a 15-3 league loss to Middleton (Middleton, ID). The Patriots record now stands at 6-16.

With the loss, Capital falls to 9-6 on the campaign. The Golden eagles travel to Nampa (Nampa, ID) to battle the Bulldogs in a 5A Southern Idaho challenge on Tuesday, April 23. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 8-7. Nampa won 10-9 in their recent league challenge against Borah (Boise, ID)
