Colonia Patriots (Colonia, NJ) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Spotswood Chargers (Spotswood, NJ), 12-10 in a league challenge.

The Patriots now own a 7-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Old Bridge for a non-league challenge on Monday, April 22. Colonia will battle a Knights squad coming off a 12-4 non-league win over East Brunswick (East Brunswick, NJ). The Knights record now stands at 7-3.

With the loss, Spotswood falls to 9-2 on the campaign. The Chargers host Matawan Regional (Aberdeen, NJ) to battle the Huskies in a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 20. The Huskies enter the challenge with a record of 4-2. Matawan Regional won 16-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Neptune (Neptune, NJ)
