St. David Tigers (St. David, AZ) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Desert Christian Eagles (Tucson, AZ), 6-5 in a league challenge.

The Tigers now sport a 15-3 record. They take the field next when they host Ray for a 1A South challenge on Tuesday, April 23. St. David will face a Bearcats squad coming off a 25-18 league loss to Valley Union (Elfrida, AZ). The Bearcats record now stands at 8-19.

With the loss, Desert Christian falls to 15-5 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to San Manuel (San Manuel, AZ) to face the Miners in a 1A South challenge on Saturday, April 20. The Miners enter the challenge with a record of 18-6. San Manuel won 5-4 in their recent league challenge against St. David (St. David, AZ)
