Riverhead Blue Waves (Riverhead, NY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Patchogue-Medford Raiders (Medford, NY), 3-1 in a league challenge.

The Blue Waves now own a 9-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Brentwood for a Section 11 AA-1 challenge on Saturday, April 20. Riverhead will face a Indians squad coming off a 14-12 league loss to William Floyd (Mastic Beach, NY). The Indians record now stands at 0-3.

With the loss, Patchogue-Medford falls to 3-2 on the campaign. The Raiders travel to Walt Whitman (Huntington Station, NY) to face the Wildcats in a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 20.
