The Peabody Veterans Memorial Tanners edged the visiting Bishop Fenwick Crusaders softball team by a final score of 7-6 in Saturday's non-league match.
The Tanners (4-2) will now prepare for their match against Gloucester (Gloucester, MA). The Fishermen go into the Northeast match with a 8-0 record. In their last match, Gloucester tipped Georgetown (Georgetown, MA), 5-3, in a non-league match.
In their next game, the Crusaders battle the Arlington Catholic Cougars (Arlington, MA) in a Catholic Central - Large match, on Monday, April 28. Bishop Fenwick will attempt to better on its 2-4 season record.
