The Branford Hornets overwhelmed the host Wilbur Cross Governors softball squad by a count of 22-4 in Saturday's non-league challenge.
Next, the Hornets meet the East Haven Yellowjackets (East Haven, CT) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, April 21. Branford will attempt to upgrade on its 2-4 season record. The Yellowjackets go into the challenge with a 4-2 record after their 11-0 non-league loss to Fitch (Groton, CT).
The Governors (0-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Hand (Madison, CT). The Tigers go into the Southern Connecticut - Oronoque challenge with a 0-5 record. In their last challenge, Hand was routed by Guilford (Guilford, CT), 7-2, in a non-league challenge.
