The Martins Ferry Purple Riders the visiting Bellaire Big Reds baseball team by a count of 8-3 in Saturday's non-league bout.

The Purple Riders now possess a 2-0 record. They take the field next when they host St. Clairsville for a Ohio Valley Athletic AAAA bout on Monday, April 4.

Next, the Big Reds face the Cambridge Bobcats (Cambridge, OH) in a Buckeye 8 bout, on Monday, April 4. Bellaire will attempt to move on its 0-4 season record. The Bobcats enter the bout with a 2-0 record after their 10-0 non-league win over Tuscarawas Central Catholic (New Philadelphia, OH).
