The Piedmont Wildcats nudged the visiting Elk City Elks baseball team by a tally of 7-6 in Saturday's non-league bout.
The Wildcats now hold a 16-3 record. They take the field next when they host Del City for a 5A District 2 bout on Monday, April 4. Piedmont will face a Eagles team coming off a 6-2 non-league loss to Oklahoma City Broncos HomeSchool (Oklahoma City, OK). The Eagles record now stands at 0-10.
Next, the Elks face the Kingfisher Yellowjackets (Kingfisher, OK) in a 4A District 1 bout, on Monday, April 4. Elk City will attempt to advance on its 1-5 season record. The Yellowjackets enter the bout with a 9-7 record after their 12-2 non-league win over Vici (Vici, OK).
