Lamesa Tornadoes (Lamesa, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Brownfield Cubs (Brownfield, TX), 9-6 in a league challenge.

The Tornadoes now own a 8-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Denver City for a 3A Region I District 3 challenge on Tuesday, April 5. Lamesa will battle a Mustangs squad coming off a 12-8 league loss to Muleshoe (Muleshoe, TX). The Mustangs record now stands at 1-5.

With the loss, Brownfield falls to 17-6 on the campaign. The Cubs host Dimmitt (Dimmitt, TX) to battle the Bobcats in a 3A Region I District 3 challenge on Tuesday, April 5. The Bobcats enter the challenge with a record of 0-6. Dimmitt lost 17-0 in their recent league challenge against Littlefield (Littlefield, TX)
