The crowd at Saturday's non-league match between the Carbondale Terriers (Carbondale, IL) and the host Herrin Tigers (Herrin, IL), saw Carbondale's softball squad nip Herrin by a count of 5-3.

The Terriers now sport a 7-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Belleville West for a non-league match on Saturday, April 2. Carbondale will face a Maroons squad coming off a 14-4 non-league win over Central (Park Hills, MO). The Maroons record now stands at 2-2.

With the loss, Herrin falls to 3-6 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Benton (Benton, IL) to face the Rangers in a Southern Illinois River-to-River - Ohio match on Monday, April 4. The Rangers enter the match with a record of 4-5. Benton lost 6-5 in their recent non-league match against Hamilton County (McLeansboro, IL)
