Auburn Eagles (Riner, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Grayson County Blue Devils (Independence, VA), 18-6 in a league challenge.

The Eagles now own a 5-3 record. They take the field next when they host George Wythe for a Mountain Empire challenge on Tuesday, April 9. Auburn will battle a Maroons squad coming off a 3-2 league win over Fort Chiswell (Max Meadows, VA). The Maroons record now stands at 5-0.

With the loss, Grayson County falls to 1-5 on the campaign. The Blue devils travel to Galax (Galax, VA) to battle the Maroon Tide in a Mountain Empire challenge on Tuesday, April 9. The Maroon Tide enter the challenge with a record of 3-3. Galax won 11-6 in their recent league challenge against Bland County (Rocky Gap, VA)
