Frankfort Redbirds (West Frankfort, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Nashville Hornets (Nashville, IL), 13-12 in a league challenge.

The Redbirds now own a 7-5 record. They take the field next when they host Eldorado for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, April 3.

With the loss, Nashville falls to 6-5 on the campaign. The Hornets travel to Benton (Benton, IL) to battle the Rangers in a Southern Illinois River-to-River - Mississippi challenge on Friday, April 5. The Rangers enter the challenge with a record of 4-10. Benton lost 14-4 in their recent non-league challenge against Harrisburg (Harrisburg, IL)
