Spectators at Tuesday's league match between the Merryville Panthers (Merryville, LA) and the host Gueydan Bears (Gueydan, LA), witnessed Merryville's softball squad prevail over Gueydan by a count of 19-2.

The Panthers now sport a 14-5 record. They play next when they host East Beauregard for a 1A District 5 match on Thursday, April 4. Merryville will meet a Trojans squad coming off a 8-7 league win over Oberlin (Oberlin, LA). The Trojans record now stands at 14-6.

With the loss, Gueydan moves to 2-10 on the season. The Bears host Basile (Basile, LA) to meet the Bearcats in a 1A District 5 match on Wednesday, April 3. The Bearcats go into the match with a record of 8-12. Basile won 14-4 in their recent non-league match against Elton (Elton, LA)
