West Wilkes Blackhawks (Millers Creek, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Wilkes Central Eagles (Wilkesboro, NC), 15-0 in a league challenge.

The Blackhawks now own a 8-0 record. They take the field next when they host Crest for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 6. West Wilkes will battle a Chargers squad coming off a 18-0 league win over Ashbrook (Gastonia, NC). The Chargers record now stands at 9-1.

With the loss, Wilkes Central falls to 2-6 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to North Surry (Mount Airy, NC) to battle the Greyhounds in a Foothills 2A challenge on Thursday, April 4. The Greyhounds enter the challenge with a record of 2-8. North Surry lost 11-1 in their recent league challenge against Forbush (East Bend, NC)
