The crowd at Wednesday's non-league battle between the Midfield Patriots (Midfield, AL) and the visiting Pleasant Grove Spartans (Pleasant Grove, AL), saw Midfield's baseball team beat Pleasant Grove by a margin of 6-2.

The Patriots (2-14) will now prepare for their battle against Childersburg (Childersburg, AL). The Tigers enter the 3A Area 8 battle with a 7-11 record. In their last battle, Childersburg held off Midfield (Midfield, AL), 15-0, in a league battle.

Next, the Spartans face the Indian Springs Student (Pelham, AL) in a 4A Area 7 battle, on Thursday, April 3. Pleasant Grove will attempt to improve on its 7-10 season record. The Student enter the battle with a 6-8 record after their 16-1 non-league loss to Oak Grove (Bessemer, AL).
