New Jersey High School Softball - Matawan Regional edged by Middletown South

Middletown South Eagles (Middletown, NJ) supporters left the game thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Matawan Regional Huskies (Aberdeen, NJ), 3-2 in a non-league game.

With the triumph, Middletown South improves its record to 2-0 on the year. The Eagles travel to Manalapan (Englishtown, NJ) to play the Braves in a non-league game on Friday, April 4. The Braves enter the game with a record of 2-2. Manalapan won 15-8 in their recent non-league game against Ocean Township (Oakhurst, NJ)

The Huskies now hold a 0-2 record. They play next when they host Toms River North for a non-league game on Friday, April 4. Matawan Regional will play a Mariners squad coming off a 18-4 non-league loss to Wall Township (Wall, NJ). The Mariners record now stands at 1-3.
