In Wednesday's league match, the visiting Winthrop Vikings softball team scored a tight 7-4 win over the Salem Witches.

The Vikings (2-0) will now prepare for their match against Saugus (Saugus, MA). The Sachems come into the Northeast match with a 1-1 record. In their last match, Saugus was routed by Swampscott (Swampscott, MA), 7-4, in a league match.

In their next game, the Witches battle the Gloucester Fishermen (Gloucester, MA) in a Northeast match, on Friday, April 4. Salem will attempt to better on its 0-1 season record. The Fishermen come into the match with a 1-0 record after their 10-2 non-league win over North Reading (North Reading, MA).
