Mississippi High School Softball - Pontotoc can't get by Lafayette

The Lafayette Commodores edged the visiting Pontotoc Warriors softball squad by a count of 6-5 in Thursday's league challenge.

Next, the Commodores meet the Caledonia Cavaliers (Caledonia, MS) in a 5A Region 1 challenge, on Tuesday, April 7. Lafayette will attempt to upgrade on its 13-5 season record. The Cavaliers enter the challenge with a 16-2 record after their 4-2 league win over New Hope (Columbus, MS).

The Warriors (9-8) will now prepare for their battle against Itawamba Agricultural (Fulton, MS). The Indians come into the non-league battle with a 20-2 record. In their last battle, Itawamba Agricultural nipped Booneville (Booneville, MS), 15-5, in a non-league battle.
