Bonsall Legionnaires (Bonsall, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Mountain Empire Redhawks (Pine Valley, CA), 17-13 in a non-league challenge.

The Legionnaires now own a 3-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Ocean View Christian for a Patriot challenge on Thursday, April 21. Bonsall will battle a Patriots squad coming off a 20-10 league win over King-Chavez Community (San Diego, CA). The Patriots record now stands at 3-7.

With the loss, Mountain Empire falls to 3-4 on the campaign. The Redhawks host Calvary Christian Academy (Chula Vista, CA) to battle the Royal Knights in a non-league challenge on Thursday, April 21. The Royal Knights enter the challenge with a record of 5-1. Calvary Christian Academy won 23-4 in their recent league challenge against San Diego Academy (National City, CA)
