Hampshire Whip-Purs (Hampshire, IL) fans exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Crystal Lake South Gators (Crystal Lake, IL), 7-6 in a league challenge.

The Whip-Purs now sport a 5-5 record. They take the field next when they host Cary-Grove for a Fox Valley challenge on Thursday, April 21. Hampshire will face a Trojans squad coming off a 8-2 league loss to Central (Burlington, IL). The Trojans record now stands at 4-5.

With the loss, Crystal Lake South falls to 2-7 on the campaign. The Gators host Huntley (Huntley, IL) to face the Red Raiders in a Fox Valley challenge on Thursday, April 21. The Red Raiders enter the challenge with a record of 10-4. Huntley won 21-0 in their recent league challenge against Jacobs (Algonquin, IL)
