Pittston Patriots (Pittston, PA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Hazleton Area Cougars (Hazleton, PA), 11-3 in a league challenge.

The Patriots now own a 8-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Wyoming Valley West for a Wyoming Valley 1 challenge on Friday, April 22. Pittston will battle a Spartans squad coming off a 8-7 league win over Berwick (Berwick, PA). The Spartans record now stands at 2-3.

With the loss, Hazleton Area falls to 3-2 on the campaign. The Cougars host Berwick (Berwick, PA) to battle the Bulldogs in a Wyoming Valley 1 challenge on Friday, April 22. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 2-6. Berwick lost 8-7 in their recent league challenge against Wyoming Valley West (Plymouth, PA)
