McLane Highlanders (Fresno, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Hoover Patriots (Fresno, CA), 7-0 in a league challenge.

The Highlanders now own a 8-9 record. They take the field next when they host Reedley for a North Yosemite challenge on Friday, April 22. McLane will face a Pirates squad coming off a 15-0 league win over Roosevelt (Fresno, CA). The Pirates record now stands at 14-6.

With the loss, Hoover falls to 1-9 on the campaign. The Patriots host Sunnyside (Fresno, CA) to face the Wildcats in a North Yosemite challenge on Friday, April 22. The Wildcats enter the challenge with a record of 6-11. Sunnyside won 6-1 in their recent league challenge against Fresno (Fresno, CA)
