Piute Thunderbirds (Junction, UT) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Wayne Badgers (Bicknell, UT), 13-11 in a league challenge.

The Thunderbirds now own a 5-10 record. They take the field next when they host Milford for a 2A challenge on Thursday, April 21. Piute will battle a Tigers squad coming off a 19-18 league loss to North Sevier (Salina, UT). The Tigers record now stands at 2-10.

With the loss, Wayne moves to 2-11 on the season. The Badgers travel to Panguitch (Panguitch, UT) to meet the Bobcats in a 2A match on Tuesday, April 26. The Bobcats go into the match with a record of 6-8. Panguitch lost 19-0 in their recent league match against Enterprise (Enterprise, UT)
