Virginia High School Baseball - West Point gets by Mathews

April 20, 2023: Mathews, VA 23109

West Point Pointers (West Point, VA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the host Mathews Blue Devils (Mathews, VA), 6-3 in a league test.

With the win, West Point moves its record to 3-6 on the campaign. The Pointers travel to Westmoreland (Montross, VA) to play the Eagles in a non-league battle on Friday, April 21. The Eagles enter the battle with a record of 1-8.

The Blue Devils now possess a 5-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Middlesex for a Tidewater battle on Tuesday, April 25. Mathews will play a Chargers squad coming off a 18-1 league win over King & Queen Central (King & Queen Court House, VA). The Chargers record now stands at 9-4.
