Polk County Wolverines (Columbus, NC) fans were thrilled Thursday as they observed their soccer team triumph over the visiting R-S Central Hilltoppers (Rutherfordton, NC), 5-0 in a league test.

The Wolverines now sport a 9-3 record. They play next when they travel to Franklin for a non-league test on Friday, April 21. Polk County will meet a Panthers squad coming off a 1-1 league Tuscola (Waynesville, NC). The Panthers record now stands at 3-7.

With the loss, R-S Central drops to 4-7 on the season. The Hilltoppers host Patton (Morganton, NC) to meet the Panthers in a Mountain Foothills Seven 2A test on Tuesday, April 25. The Panthers come into the test with a record of 5-8. Patton 0-0 in their recent league test against East Rutherford (Forest City, NC)
