Homewood-Flossmoor Vikings (Flossmoor, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Lockport Porters (Lockport, IL), 12-8 in a league challenge.

The Vikings now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Bradley-Bourbonnais for a challenge on Tuesday, April 25. Homewood-Flossmoor will battle a Boilermakers squad coming off a 13-10 non-league win over Yorkville (Yorkville, IL). The Boilermakers record now stands at 11-5.

With the loss, Lockport falls to 1-4 on the campaign. The Porters travel to Sandburg (Orland Park, IL) to battle the Eagles in a challenge on Tuesday, April 25. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 1-0.
