The Monticello Mustangs softball team scored 19 runs and limited the visiting Western Albemarle Warriors to 5 in the Mustangs non-league triumph on Thursday.

With the triumph, Monticello moves its record to 4-5 on the year. The Mustangs host Wilson Memorial (Fishersville, VA) to clash with the Green Hornets in a non-league game on Monday, April 24. The Green Hornets come into the game with a record of 5-5. Wilson Memorial won 9-3 in their recent non-league game against Riverheads (Staunton, VA)

In their next game, the Warriors clash with the Orange County Fighting Hornets (Orange, VA) in a non-league game, on Tuesday, April 25. Western Albemarle will attempt to move on its 3-4 season record. The Fighting Hornets come into the game with a 5-1 record after their 13-1 non-league win over Goochland (Goochland, VA).
