North Carolina High School Softball - Ayden - Grifton nudges SouthWest Edgecombe

April 20, 2023: Pinetops, NC 27864

The crowd at Thursday's league battle between the Ayden - Grifton Chargers (Ayden, NC) and the host SouthWest Edgecombe Cougars (Pinetops, NC), witnessed Ayden - Grifton's softball squad tip SouthWest Edgecombe by a count of 9-8.

The Chargers (13-6) will now prepare for their battle against J.H. Rose (Greenville, NC). The Rampants go into the non-league battle with a 6-12 record. In their last battle, J.H. Rose nudged Northside - Jacksonville (Jacksonville, NC), 9-3, in a league battle.

The Cougars now sport a 14-1 record. They play next when they host Washington for a Eastern Plains 2A battle on Tuesday, April 25. SouthWest Edgecombe will meet a Pam Pack squad coming off a 18-0 league win over North Pitt (Bethel, NC). The Pam Pack record now stands at 12-5.
