Pelion Panthers (Pelion, SC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Branchville Yellow Jackets (Branchville, SC), 5-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Panthers now own a 6-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Silver Bluff for a AA Region 3 challenge on Friday, April 21. Pelion will battle a Bulldogs squad coming off a 11-1 league loss to Strom Thurmond (Johnston, SC). The Bulldogs record now stands at 2-13.

With the loss, Branchville falls to 19-5 on the campaign. The Yellow jackets travel to Barnwell (Barnwell, SC) to battle the Warhorses in a non-league challenge on Thursday, April 27. The Warhorses enter the challenge with a record of 14-2. Barnwell won 18-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Horse Creek Academy (Aiken, SC)
