Volunteer Falcons (Church Hill, TN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Elizabethton Fighting Cyclones (Elizabethton, TN), 5-1 in a league challenge.

The Falcons now own a 5-4 record. They take the field next when they host Tennessee for a 3A District 1 challenge on Tuesday, April 25.

With the loss, Elizabethton falls to 15-5 on the campaign. The Fighting cyclones travel to East Carter (Grayson, KY) to battle the Raiders in a non-league challenge on Friday, April 21. The Raiders enter the challenge with a record of 15-7. East Carter won 14-2 in their recent league challenge against West Carter (Olive Hill, KY)
