Kentucky High School Softball - Garrard County holds off Southwestern

Garrard County Golden Lions (Lancaster, KY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Southwestern Warriors (Somerset, KY), 8-6 in a non-league challenge.

The Golden Lions now own a 8-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Rockcastle County for a non-league challenge on Friday, April 21. Garrard County will face a Rockets squad coming off a 7-5 non-league loss to Mercer County (Harrodsburg, KY). The Rockets record now stands at 6-9.

With the loss, Southwestern falls to 8-12 on the campaign. The Warriors host Russell County (Russell Springs, KY) to face the Lakers in a non-league challenge on Friday, April 21. The Lakers enter the challenge with a record of 3-12. Russell County lost 17-2 in their recent league challenge against Cumberland County (Burkesville, KY)
