George Washington Patriots (Charleston, WV) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting South Charleston Black Eagles (South Charleston, WV), 11-4 in a league challenge.

The Patriots now own a 13-8 record. They take the field next when they host Greenbrier East for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 22. George Washington will face a Spartans squad coming off a 15-0 league win over Oak Hill (Oak Hill, WV). The Spartans record now stands at 16-2.

With the loss, South Charleston falls to 4-9 on the campaign. The Black eagles travel to Capital (Charleston, WV) to face the Cougars in a Mountain State challenge on Friday, April 21. The Cougars enter the challenge with a record of 5-7. Capital lost 9-5 in their recent league challenge against Huntington (Huntington, WV)
