In Thursday's non-league outing, the host Martins Ferry Purple Riders softball team scored a close 7-4 win over the Linsly Cadets.

Coming up next, the Purple Riders battle the Monroe Central Seminoles (Woodsfield, OH) in a non-league outing, on Saturday, April 22. Martins Ferry will attempt to upgrade on its 8-2 season record. The Seminoles enter the outing with a 11-8 record after their 7-0 non-league loss to Caldwell (Caldwell, OH).
