Westwood Cardinals (Washington Township, NJ) followers exited the stadium in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their lacrosse squad edge the host New Providence Pioneers (New Providence, NJ), 8-7 in a league battle.

The Cardinals now have a 7-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Livingston for a non-league battle on Monday, April 22. Westwood will clash with a Lancers squad coming off a 13-12 non-league win over Mount St. Dominic Academy (Caldwell, NJ). The Lancers record now stands at 5-3.

In their next game, the Pioneers clash with the Sparta Spartans (Sparta, NJ) in a non-league battle, on Tuesday, April 23. New Providence will attempt to move on its 2-5 season record. The Spartans come into the battle with a 6-2 record after their 7-6 non-league win over Voorhees (Glen Gardner, NJ).
