Dexter Tigers (Dexter, ME) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Stearns Minutemen (Millinocket, ME), 16-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Tigers now own a 3-0 record. They take the field next when they host Mattanawcook for a Class C North challenge on Monday, April 22. Dexter will battle a Lynx squad coming off a 18-2 league win over George Stevens Academy (Blue Hill, ME). The Lynx record now stands at 1-0.

With the loss, Stearns falls to 1-2 on the campaign. The Minutemen host Penobscot Valley (Howland, ME) to battle the Howlers in a Class D North challenge on Monday, April 22. The Howlers enter the challenge with a record of 1-0. Penobscot Valley won 4-2 in their recent league challenge against Woodland (Baileyville, ME)
