In Monday's non-league match, the visiting Central Panthers softball team scored a nice 24-3 win over the Franklin Lightning.

The Panthers (5-9) will now prepare for their match against McKay (Salem, OR). The Royal Scots come into the 5A Mid-Willamette match with a 4-8 record. In their last match, McKay notched a victory over Liberty (Hillsboro, OR), 21-6, in a non-league match.

In their next game, the Lightning battle the Ida B. Wells Guardians (Portland, OR) in a 6A Portland Interscholastic match, on Wednesday, April 22. Franklin will attempt to better on its 4-11 season record. The Guardians come into the match with a 6-7 record after their 9-6 league loss to McDaniel (Portland, OR).
