The Midland Valley Mustangs edged the visiting Gilbert Indians softball squad by a count of 3-2 in Monday's league challenge.
Next, the Mustangs play the Aiken Fighting Green Hornets (Aiken, SC) in a AAAA Region 4 challenge, on Thursday, April 23. Midland Valley will attempt to upgrade on its 14-6 season record. The Fighting Green Hornets enter the challenge with a 2-14 record after their 16-13 league loss to Brookland-Cayce (Cayce, SC).
The Indians (11-8) will now prepare for their challenge against Brookland-Cayce (Cayce, SC). The Bearcats enter the AAAA Region 4 challenge with a 4-9 record. In their last challenge, Brookland-Cayce edged Aiken (Aiken, SC), 16-13, in a league challenge.
