The Athens Golden Eagles (Athens, AL) softball routed the visiting Austin Black Bears (Decatur, AL), 17-2 in Thursday's non-league bout.
The Golden Eagles (15-1) will now prepare for their bout against Sparkman (Harvest, AL). The Senators go into the non-league bout with a 10-1 record. In their last bout, Sparkman toppled Grissom (Huntsville, AL), 6-0, in a non-league bout.
The Black Bears now possess a 4-6 record. They play next when they travel to Tuscaloosa County for a non-league bout on Friday, April 22. Austin will confront a Wildcats squad coming off a 5-3 non-league win over Oak Mountain (Birmingham, AL). The Wildcats record now stands at 3-4.
