Centralia Orphans (Centralia, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Althoff Catholic Crusaders (Belleville, IL), 20-3 in a league challenge.

The Orphans now own a 7-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Freeburg for a non-league challenge on Friday, April 22. Centralia will battle a Midgets squad coming off a 11-0 league win over Breese Central (Breese, IL). The Midgets record now stands at 15-1.

With the loss, Althoff Catholic falls to 0-6 on the campaign. The Crusaders host Carbondale (Carbondale, IL) to battle the Terriers in a South Seven challenge on Tuesday, April 26. The Terriers enter the challenge with a record of 12-7. Carbondale lost 6-4 in their recent non-league challenge against O'Fallon (O'Fallon, IL)
