Belvidere Bucs (Belvidere, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Guilford Vikings (Rockford, IL), 9-4 in a league challenge.

The Bucs now own a 5-5 record. They take the field next when they host Freeport for a Northern Illinois NIC-9 challenge on Monday, April 25. Belvidere will face a Pretzels squad coming off a 12-2 non-league loss to Orangeville (Orangeville, IL). The Pretzels record now stands at 7-5.

With the loss, Guilford falls to 2-6 on the campaign. The Vikings host Woodstock (Woodstock, IL) to face the Blue Streaks in a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 23. The Blue Streaks enter the challenge with a record of 1-5.
