Emma Willard Jesters (Troy, NY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Mechanicville Red Raiders (Mechanicville, NY), 12-9 in a league challenge.

The Jesters now own a 2-3 record. They take the field next when they host Greenwich for a Section 2 Wasaren challenge on Monday, April 25. Emma Willard will battle a Witches squad coming off a 10-0 non-league win over Maple Hill (Castleton on Hudson, NY). The Witches record now stands at 3-0.

With the loss, Mechanicville falls to 1-3 on the campaign. The Red raiders travel to Hoosic Valley (Schaghticoke, NY) to battle the Indians in a Section 2 Wasaren challenge on Thursday, April 28. The Indians enter the challenge with a record of 3-5. Hoosic Valley lost 7-0 in their recent league challenge against Stillwater (Stillwater, NY)
